Appearance Engineering Pty Limited was incorporated in 1980 as an Industrial Design consultancy by Ralph Lee. Ralph was previously the Design Manager for Malleys Ltd., the maker of Whirlpool and Hotpoint appliances in Australia.

The original charter was to provide a design service to electrical appliance manufacturers in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Industrial Design expertise has evolved to include plastic mouldings and metal product design, project management and light manufacturing. Today our major clientele are based in Australia and the United Kingdom.
